Every student has a unique mix of talents, interests, personality traits, accomplishments and dreams.  At College Matters, we begin the search by working with you - the student and his or her family - to uncover that special combination of qualities and achievements.  It's the first essential step on the road to making a great college match.

We call this process discovering your greatness.  It’s a highly customized approach, tailored to each student. It can’t be done simply by filling in the blanks of an online form or drafting a resume. It requires listening on our part and self-examination on yours. It takes time. And through our conversations and exercises together, each student’s greatness emerges.

With this work as a basis, we move on to identify a range of colleges and universities that offer the combination of academics, student life, personality and opportunities that will best meet your needs.

How do we know which ones to suggest? We visit over 50 institutions of higher learning across the country every year to learn about everything: their academic and athletic programs, the social atmosphere, the local environment—even the size of the dorm rooms and whether or not they have frozen yogurt machines!
